What a truly amazing find, the house itself is stunning in every way, set in beautiful tranquil grounds with views of the rolling countryside. We were met with a warm welcome from Nick, who showed us the house as well as to our room after explaining all of the facilities available to us. The rooms are all immaculately presented with amazing period features in every room. The grand dining hall overlooks the gardens and a sumptuous guest lounge with fabulous sofas invites you in, to relax & soak up the atmosphere in front of the massive roaring fire. Our elegant bedroom was wonderful, beautifully presented with its four poster bed and luxurious bedding. It was unquestionably the most comfortable nights sleep we had ever had. Our bathroom had a fantastic shower with soft fluffy towels and very nice 'Neal's Yard' toiletries were provided. There were a selection of teas and infusions available along with a cafetiere to brew the ground coffee. We enjoyed breakfast in the dining hall at the huge table and were spoilt for choice, from the homemade granola and freshly squeezed orange juice to the freshly baked traditional bread followed by the most amazing cooked breakfast freshly prepared by Jane. There were lots of choices however I couldn't resist the description of the full English which did not disappoint.After breakfast we took a walk around the grounds to explore the different corners of the gardens and soak up the sun. It's so quiet and relaxing, I felt like I had spent a week away not just a day. It is easy to loose track of time here as it feels so far removed from the hustle & bustle of every day life. It was very difficult to tear ourselves away.We were made to feel totally at home at Costislost House. It was so peaceful and has a very special feel about it. We are very much looking forward to a return visit to enjoy being in such nice surroundings with such great hosts.
